UPCOMING EVENTS:  Save the dates for the following:

Tuesday:   Informational meeting for anyone interested in helping out with the upcoming Turners National Golf tournament that we will be hosting in July!  We have many jobs that need to be filled and we really need all the support we can get!  This tournament is a lot of fun as we welcome our fellow Turners from around the country to our club.   Meeting begins at 6:30 so please try to attend.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

46th Annual Stan Sutor Masters 2019
The Masters Tournament Format will remain unchanged this season. The first matches (Feb. 9th) of the tournament will be SINGLE
ELIMINATION matches, quickly taking 32 bowlers down to 16. These 16 winners will then begin double eliminations. The idea is to
shorten the length of time needed to commit, resulting in a greater number of bowlers participating. As in years past, we’ll hold a
“Bowler Calcutta” auction on Friday night, February 8th in the main bar of the Club beginning at 7:00 PM SHARP.
Championship matches, taking place on Feb. 23nd, (Time TBA – see below) and will be formatted as a 4 BOWLER
LADDER ROLL OFF: 2 game matches, beginning with 4th place vs. third. The winner of that match then takes on the 2"
place finalist, and the winner of that match will then try to beat the one undefeated contestant (twice).
The final matches should roll along at a fast and furious pace, with the 4 Bowlers competing for the Masters Champion
title. After this has been determined, pictures will be taken, awards will be presented and following that, think
CELEBRATION! Syracuse is scheduled to play Duke at 6:00 (or 8:00) PM that night. We will schedule the Finals to start 3
hours prior to the Tip-off of the basketball game and hopefully everyone will stick around for the game and to further support
the Club.
The journey begins with the 9th annual Arlene Sutor Qualifying Tournament which begins the first week in January and is
open to all bowlers with an established average whether they can manage the Masters or not. A “secret score” and first place
prizes will be awarded. As before, qualifying takes place during regular league bowling. A “Last Chance” qualifying round will
be held on February 2nd at 12:00 Noon for any non-league bowlers or league bowlers who want to give it one last chance to
better their qualifying position. League Qualifying costs are $7.00 for the 1st qualifying attempt and $5.00 for subsequent
attempts. Fee for Non-League bowlers qualifying in the Last Chance round will be $10.00.

The American Turner’s National Bowling Tournament for 2019 will be in Aurora, Illinois. Our weekend for competition
is April 26, 2018 through April 28, 2018. The sign-up sheets will be in the bowling alleys so let’s have a great
representation in Aurora to show them our bowling skills!! Any questions for this can be directed to Judy Bacon. Please
note that you must be a “member in good standing” (meaning you must have your 2019 dues paid in full) in order to
participate in this tournament.

As you all know, we are hosting the American Turners National Golf tournament in July. We have the golf courses
reserved and have made the hotel reservations already but there are so many other areas that we need your help!
We will be having a meeting on TUESDAY, JANUARY 29th at 6:30 p.m. so please plan to attend to find out where we
need you to volunteer to make this a smooth running tourment.
Please mark your calendars for the week of July 9th to the 12th as we host so many of our friends from the other Turner
clubs across the country. Any questions, please see Steve Shires or Judy Bacon.

Please watch your Spirit and the weekly email Blasts for details

and check out the calendars in this month’s Spirit for the dates!!

If you’re NOT getting an email blast, please email me at
judybacon@hotmail.com so I can get you on the list.

Or if you see me at the club, just give me your email address so I can add you in for the fun events happening at the club..
